About the journal

Chirantan

Chirantan is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the scholarly exploration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and their enduring relevance to contemporary academic, professional and creative life. The journal is IKS-focused across disciplines - every submission must substantively engage with Indian Knowledge Systems as a core lens or subject, whatever discipline it draws from - rather than a generic multidisciplinary title. Chirantan bridges traditional Indian knowledge with modern scientific, social and cultural inquiry, and alongside rigorous academic scholarship it publishes creative and reflective work inspired by Indian knowledge traditions, reviewed through a separate editorial track. The journal welcomes contributions across twelve subject areas spanning philosophy, medicine, education, governance, engineering and technology, linguistics, management, ecology, history, geography, architecture and psychology, each read through an IKS lens.
