Chirantan (operated by Authorspress, with Digital EFX as technical operator) collects only what the editorial and publishing workflow actually needs to run - never sold, never used for advertising or tracking.
Account and identity data. Your email address, name, and, if you connect it, your ORCID iD - never your ORCID password or access token, which this platform never stores (see our ORCID integration's own confidentiality rule). Institutional affiliation, if you provide it.
Submission data. Manuscript files, title, abstract, keywords, contributor list, and any declarations (funding, ethics, conflicts of interest, data availability, AI use) you submit with it.
Manuscript confidentiality. A manuscript under review is shared only with its assigned reviewers, the handling editor(s), and this platform's own automated editorial-support agents (technical screening, subject-area matching, integrity checks, copyediting and proofing support) - never made public, never sold, and never shared with anyone else. Those agents run on Anthropic's Claude API: manuscript text may be sent to Anthropic for that processing, under Anthropic's own API data-use terms, solely to generate the advisory output an editor then reviews. No agent output is ever treated as a decision - a human editor's judgement is required at every step (see Publication Ethics).
Payment data. If you pay an Article Processing Charge, your payment is handled entirely by our third-party payment gateway partner - Chirantan and Digital EFX never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details. We do keep a record of the invoice itself (amount, GST breakdown, your declared billing state, and the gateway's own payment/order reference) for accounting and tax purposes.
What becomes public. Only a published article's own content and citation metadata (title, authors, abstract, DOI) - deposited with Crossref and indexed by scholarly databases, which is the normal, intended effect of publication. Nothing about a submission that is withdrawn or rejected is ever made public.
Other processors. ORCID (identity verification, if you connect your iD), Crossref (DOI registration for published articles), and our email provider (account, editorial, and payment-related notifications only - never marketing).
Your rights. You may ask us to correct inaccurate account data, or ask what data we hold about you, via the Contact page. A published article's own scholarly record is not erased on request once it is live - citations and DOIs depend on that permanence, the same standard every reputable journal holds itself to.
