Naresh Kumar Vats

Biography

Dr. Naresh Kumar Vats is an Associate Professor in the University School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi. His research interest includes literary criticism, Indian Knowledge Systems, folk studies, aesthetics, and indigenous intellectual traditions, with a sustained focus on the folk culture and performing arts of Haryana. His recent scholarship explores the intersections of folk, classical, and canonical traditions, decolonising literary criticism through Indian theoretical frameworks. Prof. Vats has presented keynote addresses and invited lectures at academic forums in India, Europe and America. His current work seeks to integrate Indian aesthetics, folk epistemologies, and contemporary literary theory into a coherent framework for humanities and cultural studies.
