Biography

Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kumar Jaiswal is Professor and Head, Department of B.Ed., and Dean, Faculty of Education, at Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University Campus, Gopeshwar, Chamoli. He has served as In-charge Principal (2023–2026) and currently holds charge as Chief Proctor of the campus. He completed his D.Phil. (Education) from the University of Allahabad in 2009 and qualified UGC-NET in 2001, bringing over two decades of teaching experience across institutions including Government P.G. Colleges Gopeshwar and Kotdwar, C.S.J.M. University Kanpur and U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University Allahabad. His specializations include the Indian Knowledge System, Education for Sustainable Development, Philosophy of Education, Distance Education and Plagiarism and Research Ethics. He has authored 7 books, contributed 7 book chapters and published 25 research papers in national and international journals, alongside presenting 62 national and 25 international papers. He has guided 6 doctoral scholars and examined 28 Ph.D. theses. Dr. Jaiswal has delivered keynote and resource lectures at RIE Ajmer, BHU Varanasi, Tezpur University, and Assam University and has presented at international forums in Mauritius and Lisbon, Portugal. Among his honours are the Uttarakhand State Best Teacher Award (2021) and the Vishwavidyalay Gaurav Puraskar (2025).
