The following paper is a piece of personal commentary and speculation based on the prior academic work available o n the subject of Dutch Renaissance Art. The author, selects Johannes Vermeer, as an exemplary artist of the Late Renaissance age art in Netherlands. This essay will try and give the reader a less -academic and a simpler sojourn in to the deeply domestic mil ieu of Renaissance Art of the Low -European country . While Italian paintings have been at the major focal point of Renaissance scholarship, the scholar, who is as much an ‘enraptured audience ’ of the domesticity of Low -European (Northern European) art, he wishes to take the readers in a journey to understand the finer politics of Protestant Artistry , without wishing to label it as “baroque”, for its inherent closedness to artistic spezzatura
