Abstract
In my paper I attempt to bring together elem ents from Western and Eastern Ontological thought to suggest that there is a huge possibility of exchange between the two systems of thought. What has hitherto been considered an exclusively western movement has deep set roots in Indian culture and philoso phical thought. On the whole, I argue that the Advaita V edanta offers a vista into a happier world with lesser anxiety – coming from pre modern India where belief and rationality both were rooted in non-duality
