Abstract
In this article, I have attempted to view some select works of John Henry Newman with reference to the Victorian Conflict. The works are studied in the light of the Victorians' experiences of religious doubts, materialism, loss of faith, liberalism, agnosticism and utilitarianism. I have endeavoured to show the different kinds of conflicts encountered in each work; how John Henry Newman confronted these conflicts, and the solutions he decidedly proposes
